i have that, but is very old and doesn't work now
linusT: the number after the ~ is the revision
Smerz: what kind of command did you use to install?
how to get sources of packages..i mean the repository or the package from where i get the package in a deb format
the number after the ~, is that an alpha 6?
dantalizing, I downloaded the tar.gz package from the site and extracted it. Then I used a make and a make install and that's it.
well, I also installed it now and it works, but I don't know how to upgrade it
i installed the stable ubuntu version... i can't do something else
linusT: 1~karmic~ppa1 would be the version
it gave problems on other distros and other computers :p
Smerz: good start... but there is a package in the software center to do it for you... hang on and i'll find the name of it
h00k: thanks
linusT: if you're using a PPA, check their site for any updates
linusT: if you aren't, run'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' and you'll get the latest version
h00k: what would that do?
linusT: make sure all your packages are updated
linusT: that will update all your package versions to match whatever is in the repository
Smerz:
linusT: ^
Smerz: that's where you get scim
dantalizing: dpkg -l | grep scim-bridge
h00k: did that and it said a ton of packages were being upgraded
dant
